The Lithuanian Culture Institute is a public institution established by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania to strengthen the presence of Lithuanian culture on the international stage. By promoting Lithuanian culture and professional arts abroad, the Institute creates opportunities for international collaboration between artists, cultural professionals, and organizations, while representing the country’s cultural interests worldwide. Its activities are rooted in professionalism, openness to innovation, and collaboration, guided by a mission to build sustainable international cultural partnerships and highlight the value of Lithuanian art.
As an institution dedicated to presenting Lithuanian culture to the world, the Lithuanian Culture Institute needed a visual identity that would better reflect the scale, relevance, and contemporary nature of its work. While its activities span cultural presentation programs, translation initiatives, international visits, and cooperation with cultural attachés, the existing expression lacked a distinctive and flexible system capable of communicating this broad scope in a clear and memorable way. The challenge was to create an identity that would feel recognizable, adaptable, and internationally minded, while staying closely connected to the Institute’s mission and values.
The new identity is built around the metaphor of resonance — the moment when Lithuanian culture meets international audiences at a shared frequency and creates the strongest impact. This idea shaped a contemporary visual language designed to express connection, spread, and cultural exchange, while preserving the essence of the Institute’s mission. Inspired by the logo, we developed a digital brush as the core graphic tool, allowing the system to grow through blocky graphics, scatter compositions, a stylized font, and symmetrical elements. As a result, the brand became more dynamic, recognizable, and open, reflecting a culture that travels, connects, and resonates across borders.
